Our Client is a State Body with a portfolio of multiple complex buildings require Environmental Sustainability Officers to deliver a Professional Environmental Management Support Service to stakeholders and support estate services such as professional technical and project management.

There are open roles in Galway, Limerick, Tullamore and Dublin.

  • Be the Capital & Estates, Regional Climate Action & Sustainability Lead, providing support and advice on the management of the  estate including, planning and project management, maintenance etc.
  • Support, promote and actively direct Climate Action and Sustainability, Green Environments, Water Conservation and Waste Reduction initiatives to create a sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.
  • Support Climate Action & Sustainability across the Estate i.e. Acute Hospitals, Primary Care Centres, Mental Health Centres, and Social Care etc.
  • Ensure implementation of Capital & Estate Climate Action and Sustainability policies and procedures including support for service managers/Green Teams within a region.
  • Support delivery of the Climate Action and Sustainability plans including individual projects throughout a region.
  • Lead delivery of Capital & Estates Climate Action & Sustainability functions within a regional Capital & Estates Office/Team.
  • Manage regional Capital & Estates Climate Action & Sustainability Budgets, public procurement i.e. tenders and deliver Climate Action and Sustainability projects across a Region.
  • Interact with Community Healthcare Organisations (CHOs), Hospital Groups (HGs) at Regional Climate Action Leads at Green Team Level.
  • Interface with all Capital & Estates – Customers and Stakeholders.
  • Represent Capital & Estates at regional level as required.
  • Demonstrate pro-active communications with internal and external stakeholders (Climate Action, Public/Health Sector etc.).
  • Provide Climate Action and Sustainability technical support to maintenance services for acute hospitals and community services.

Possess a Level 8 Degree in Environmental Services (or equivalent qualification) or a Level 8 Degree in an Engineering discipline with appropriate environmental experience.

Access to transport is a necessary requirement, as this post will involve travel between sites.
